Kiwi: Sign Language Translator Software

Our project is supported by KOSGEB. As it is known, hearing impaired individuals have serious communication problems when there is no one around who knows sign language. According to data from the Turkey Statistical Institute; Turkey has close to 3 million hearing-impaired citizens. Our project is being developed to meet the communication needs of these citizens; It is aimed to eliminate the communication problem in all public institutions and private institutions (Government institutions, Police Departments, Hospitals, Banks etc.).

Process of the Project;

Our system, which is prepared by using artificial intelligence and deep learning algorithms, is being created and fed by the Turkish Sign Language data set which is still in progress. Our system, which learns the words in Turkish Sign Language, can then translate words like an interpreter into words. Then, the NLP (natural language processing) system, which combines the words and converts them into meaningful sentences, turns into words and converts words into meaningful sentences. Our system gives the final output of the sentences and sounds.

Thanks to Kiwi, which is able to work on every platform, it is aimed to eliminate the communication problem of our hearing-impaired citizens.
